About Sherene
Please read this article: http://www.digitaljournal.com/blog/21526
I am a freelance writer specializing almost exclusively in health. I write for magazines, newspapers and websites, including The National Post, The Ottawa Citizen, The Montreal Gazette, Oakville Today, Whitby This Week, Centre of the City, Canada.com, AboutKidsHealth.ca (The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto), Digital Journal, York Region Media Group, and most recently, medical journal The Lancet. I have edited numerous medical journals including Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology, Canadian Respiratory Journal, Paediatrics and Child Health, Experimental and Clinical Cardiology. In addition, I own a corporate writing business specializing in medical education materials and websites for the physician audience.
I am involved with the global health division of the University of Toronto and I also volunteer with Journalists for Human Rights and Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. Some of the most amazing people I have ever met are from these organizations. I am also the Facebook admin for FMS Fibromite, a group for patients with fibromyalgia.
My pet peeve: reading snobs. These are people who look down on others who read Twilight, 50 Shades of Grey, The Davinci Code or other popular books. Who are we to judge what others want to read.
