Absentee ballots were mailed to 300 voters in Rensselaer County, New York with Barack Obama's last name misspelled. On the ballots, his last name is printed as "Osama". Election officials on either side say this was an honest, typographical mistake.

It has been learned recently that Barack Obama was asked by the family of Sgt Ryan David Jopek, KIA by a roadside bomb in Iraq, to stop wearing their son's bracelet. The request came when it was apparent that he wore it for political reasons.

Academy-Award winning actor Paul Newman, who personified cool has died. Newman passed away Friday surrounded by his family and close friends after a long battle with cancer according to his publicist Jeff Sanderson said. He was 83.

On Wednesday, police were called to where a naked man was climbing on a fire escape, ranting and screaming. The man climbed to a ledge, picked up a fluorescent tube and swung it at the police. An officer fired his Taser and the man fell to his death.
