Midland City - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released photos and new details of the rescue operation that freed the 5-year-old Alabama boy held hostage for nearly a week in an underground bunker.

Port Harcourt - Pirates have kidnapped seven crew members, six Russians and one Estonian, during an attack on a ship, the Liberty 249, off the coast of Nigeria. The ship is owned by Bourborn, a French company that supplies vessels to the Nigerian offshore oil industry.

Enugu - Gunmen have kidnapped a 58-year-old Spanish national from his home in the southeastern city of Enugu, Nigeria. Police say the man was working in Enugu as a doctor.
