Cops want Justin Bieber for questioning in fight with paparazzi
The long arm of the law wants to talk with one of Canada's finest exports, none other than pop-singer, Justin Bieber. The guy with boyish good looks and the heart of gold is wanted in connection with a matter of, allegedly, paparazzi bashing.
As most of his fans know, the incident
occurred in late May in a mall in Calabasas, California, an affluent area near L.A. where the Biebs recently bought
a $6.5 million home. Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez were trying to drive away after seeing a movie and witnesses reported that the photographer, Jose Sarros, was blocking their exit, taking photos.
It was reported by witnesses at that time that the photographer looked to be refusing to get out of the way and Bieber, who it must be remembered was a hockey player growing up in Canada, got out of the car to persuade Sarros to move. It's unclear exactly what then occurred, but Sarros is claiming to have been struck in the face.
L.A. County Sheriffs wanna talk with Bieber
The L..A. County Sheriff's department told media this week the case is open and they are looking to talk to Bieber. At the moment Bieber is on a promotional tour, he was in Europe last week and Mexico Monday, in advance of his upcoming album, 'Believe', due out in North America on June 19. The police do not seem to be in a hurry to talk with the 18-year-old.
It is not uncommon for celebrities to go through an experience with a member, or with members, of the paparazzi and some, like Sean Penn
, have done so more than once. More often there are no charges filed but there are reports Sarros is looking to file a civil suit against Bieber. At the time Sarros went to the hospital but was soon released.
Bieber is in New York today, June 15, to appear on the 'Today' show.
