Of all the presidential candidates Ron Paul has the most members in all of his meet up groups with a total of 106,491. Huckabee is next in line with 16,926, followed by Obama and Clinton with 5,062 and 1,574 respectively. Romney's groups have 102 members and McCain is in dead last with 0 meetup groups. These groups have proven to be crucial to Congressman Paul's grassroots presidential campaign. They have organized money-bombs, placed a full-page ad in USA Today, organized mass sign waving events, got a blimp to fly with his name on the side and even heckled a few of his opponents. Dr. Paul's Boston Meetup group took it upon themselves to put a full-page ad [PDF] in the Boston Globe the day before Super Tuesday to help their candidate gain more name recognition. The ad features Congressman Paul's stance on many issues including taxes, war and foreign policy. The heading states that Paul is "The Only Candidate From Either Party Unequivocally Opposed to the War in Iraq." It also states that he has a "20-year Record of saying "No" to Big Government." The ad also takes a look at Paul's stances on the issues compared to his remaining opponents. It points out that McCain is willing to stay in Iraq for 100 years if necessary and how Romney flip-flops on tax issues. Paul, on the other hand, wants to leave Iraq immediately and abolish the IRS.
