The design team at Leibish & Co., led by Chavi Itzhakov, has been instrumental in designing some magnificent pieces of jewelry using Leibish & Co.’s extensive stock of fancy color diamonds. It was the challenge of matching disparate stones and attempting to create an ensemble of colors and shapes that ultimately resulted in the creation of the La Fiesta Collection.
When the first pieces were assembled - a collage of fancy colored halo bracelets – the results were so pleasing that both Leibish Polnauer, the founder and president of Leibish & Co., and the design team decided to transpose this idea to a series of Pear, Radiant, Cushion, and Heart-shaped drop jewelry.

This striking 10.82 carat bracelet contains 21 Yellow, Orange, Green, Pink, and Brown Fancy Intense Colored diamonds complimented with 412 stones and set in 18K White, Yellow, and Rose gold.
- Pear Diamond Drop Pendant
The drop heart diamond pendant includes a 0.38 carat Fancy Yellow, a 1.21 carat Fancy Yellowish Green and a 0.43 carat Fancy Orangy Pink heart diamond. The halos include 0.37 carats total weight, collection D-F color round brilliants each of VS1-2 clarity. They are all set in 18K White, Yellow and Rose gold.
A pair of drop earrings with a total weight of 5.18 carats containing Fancy Brownish Orangy Pinks, Fancy Yellows, and Fancy Dark Yellowish Greens in matching pear, radiant, marquise, and heart shapes, and set in 18K white, yellow, and rose gold.
- Cross-Over Twin Pear Halo Setting Ring
Twin natural GIA certified Fancy Blue and Fancy Intense Purplish Pink Pear cross pave halo ring. Set in 18K White gold, the ring includes 0.57 carats of collection color Round Brilliant diamonds on the halo and shank with additional decorative brilliants set in the daylights of the side of the head.
In the words of Chavi, “This collection reminds me of a reaction in chemistry or how friends ‘click’. And just as no two friends are the same, when together their personalities complement each other and form a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. I love to see how the optimum combination of colored stones creates a breathtaking effect that exceeds its individual components.”
However, to correctly achieve the perfect combination of color and shape is a timely and ambitious task. Fancy color diamonds are not only incredibly unique but each stone has its own character that must be allowed to flourish in its setting. Consequently, matching the cut, shape, and color is a challenge all on its own. Leibish & Co.'s design team decided though to turn their singular ability to access stones of unprecedented quality, shape, and color into a true advantage. An enormous amount of work went into collecting the stones even before the designs were made.
Chavi has always been attracted by color and how the integration of different colors complements and influences the final outcome. After all, if one color adds so much, wouldn’t a number of colors amplify the effect? “The integration of the different colors must be extremely accurate to create the desired effect of a true celebration of color.”
The natural fancy color diamonds themselves are Chavi’s muse. “Sometimes I see a new stone and immediately envision it set; sometimes I have to ‘play’ with the stones until they ‘click’. Either way, with the talented craftsmen at my disposal, the final result always seems to surpass even my wildest expectations. Each one of these pieces should be labeled as 'statement jewelry' for even with its airy look and feel, the appearance is quite powerful. ”
Once the entire collection was completed, the design team stepped back, observed the entire collection and was astonished at its appearance. One of the team members exclaimed, "Wow! It is a fiesta of color and design!" The decision was instant and unanimous; the new collection would be called "La Fiesta!"
