Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 26, 2012
Fresh off his successful exit at e-VERIFILE in February 2012, Devon Wijesinghe has wasted no time in getting back into the game. He invested in Insightpool, a software data analytics company that allows you to “pinpoint your people,” and became its executive chairman earlier in June.
"The premise for Insightpool began as identifying the influencers that could become your greatest evangelists,” explains Adam Wexler, founder of Insightpool. “We have never stopped believing in the merit of that vision. Adding Devon to the team allows us to rid ourselves of any constraints and dramatically increase our growth rate."
Currently, Insightpool is bulking up its ranks to go to the next level with Wijesinghe, who invested capital in order for the product to be built out to its full potential. After all, there is a lot of noise about building followers and fanbases, and there are plenty of monitoring services that are reactive to social media. But what about personalized, proactive measures? What about off-line data and connecting to purchase systems to prove the real ROI of social media? Could this be a foundation for the first business to consumer customer relationship management system? Focusing on these unrealized customer needs is what helps set Insightpool apart, and it is what Wijesinghe hopes to build on.
“e-VERIFILE was built in a very competitive market and the only reason we were so successful was by delivering realized value to our clients at every step in the process,” adds Wijesinghe. “That is the approach we are taking in building Insightpool going forward.” Outside of e-VERIFILE he also helped turn the Atlanta Technology Angels into one of the largest, most active angel investing groups in the entire nation in just over a year.
Jesse Gideon, COO of Fresh to Order, explains why his company is one of Insightpool’s current clients: “In today’s online social media environment, you are constantly barraged with an enormous amount of information. You need a sharp knife to cut through the chatter and pinpoint your walking, talking billboards. Insightpool, for us, is that knife. They help us attract, target and engage highly active guests and turn them into true brand advocates.”
Bridging this gap is not easy, as Nicole Jayne, Director of Social for Scoutmob (another Insightpool user), will say: “Finding the right customer is a very manual and time-consuming process as it stands now. A tool to pre-qualify relevant customers who are more likely to convert is a valuable asset.”
Good thing Insightpool has a team ready to take on the challenge. Insightpool’s engineers were recently named this year’s Hackathon winners at Startup Riot; Wijesinghe took Deal of the Year at the 2012 TiECON Southeast; and another team member won Student Entrepreneur of the Year at TiECON in 2011. Together is a recipe for success.
Wijesinghe will bring a fast-growth approach to Insightpool, taking it from an intriguing startup to a high-growth, scalable business. It’s a marketplace that is wide open, but few businesses are taking full, proactive advantage of all the outlets. With this round of funding, the addition of a new team member and all the upcoming opportunities, Insightpool is poised to make a big splash.
