There was a story here about a week or so ago about a young fellow that committed suicide and his dogs stayed with his dead body for a couple of weeks keeping the coyotes away until they were found! Amazing dogs!

I think that the fact the dog stopped with his master for so long is the real reasoning behind the 'statue' honour. Its a shame that, although the dog was still alive when found, he passed away soon after. I guess he used up all his strength in those 11 weeks. A brave little chap. -
