A journalist's plight

Posted Aug 22, 2008 by skeptikool in Entertainment 4 comments
The assignment of the journalism students was to submit the shortest story possible, with elements of religion, sexuality and mystery.

The winning entry read:

My God! I'm pregnant. Wonder who did it.

Dang, that's an oldie! I remember my dad telling me that joke around a decade ago, but it wasn't a journalism student. Forget who the subject was. Thanks skeptikool, I always like a nice reminder.

I attempted, unsuccessfully, to cut and paste from an email, David, but it came with an attached image. Didn't want to post the whole thing (if possible) because multiple addresses might have been displayed.

It was a first for me, but I don't doubt that many "oldies" make the email circuit. I was trying to recall one about a chicken. Damn! How did that go? Oh yeah. Why did the chicken............?

My God! I'm pregnant - and I’m still a virgin.

Wuld have been more apropos. Imho

U C, this would b the preparation for a blessed ascension to the heavens with a complete aura of mystery and Saintlyhood. Pray, pray, to the new “blessed virgin”, which is the most original subliminal message ever created about the necessity of being a virgin:

Thereby creating in one fell swoop religions’ only quest which is establishing control over women, especially as to what they do with their bodies. Praise the Lord ain’t he great! (Pls note that its never a she.)

This Assumption of Mary doctrine, was dogmatically and infallibly defined by Pope Pius XII on 1 November 1950 in his Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus

In other words, one must believe this dogma in order to be a good catholic!

Several years ago, I went back to my home town and I was reviewing all of the Saints on my mother’s calendar which was sitting next to me and I told everyone assembled, this calendar is pure BS. And everyone said, Y?

Well statistically it is impossible! Over three quarters of the Saints are male, its not complicated that the numbers should b equal (if anything the inverse should b the case).

This is another subliminal message about the religions’ view (all of them) that women should b subservient to men.

(PS Howard, - wherever u r - pls dumb this down 4 me before I get arrested and get thrown in jail 4 giving my 2 cents worth.) : )
