What Are the Requirements for a Digital Journalist?

Digital journal claims that bloggers in their site can apply to be freelance journalist and get paid some commissions on their work. I do not understand how and why they decline some users' applications and accept some.I would recommend them to please outline the qualifications clearly on their website for every one to read or else it will remain to be seen like there is a kind of biases in choosing Journalist while the rest are left to blog.Blogging is also bringing traffic on the site and I think bloggers too should get some commission on page views.Otherwise this whole thing is full of unfairness and unjustness. I have applied to write for digital journal twice,both applications rejected. I will not mind if they outline the reasons for rejection. In my own pinion,blogging brings more traffic to a site than the so called "News".
