The excellent local online news source, the ‘Brixton blog’, has become such a success that it is
now expanding its internet presence into an actual print edition.
They are launching a monthly; eight page free sheet, entitled the ‘Brixton Bugle’, which will have an initial print run of 5,000. They are hoping to print more copies next month and expand on the eight pages, and with the aim of going two weekly, or even weekly.
The blog and newspaper are a genuine success story of grassroots and community journalism, and should serve as an inspiration to what great things can be achieved by relatively small groups of people, with little or no money, and from the comfort of their own homes.
