Living it up in Tunis!

Despite the title, our current visit to Tunis is actually a working sojourn of meetings with the partners from the 5 partners in the Euromed regional ATHENA Project including Jordan, Tunisia, Italy, Spain and Algeria. While the Project meetings are still to take place, a part of Jordan's Team, as we are the "leaders" in the project, have come early and started meetings different sectors of society. The Tunisia partner, the Institut aux Etudes Litteraires et de Sciences Humaines de Tunis of University of Tunis, have very graciously welcomed us, arranging all the meetings. The Project meetings will Monday, Tuesday will be held at the Institute. We already had one meeting with them to discuss on going activities, in between taking short trips around the capital. So far, we went to Sidi Bu Said, to the noth of the capital, a quaint village fill of palatial houses overlooking the sea with its wonderful alleways and corners nestled between the seas We got there through the famous Carthage, a theater we only got a glimpse of, because we shall go there today (Friday 29 June, 2011) as part of the sites being studied under the ATHENA Project.
