Hopefully my downhill slide will end tomorrow with surgery

What I call my Downhill Slide began on January 12 when my husband and I left for Florida. I wrote a blog about that here.
I wrote another blog about My Continuing Downhill Slide here.
I saw the surgeon on Tuesday and will have surgery Friday ( tomorrow ). The surgery will be quite extensive. I will be in the hospital for two or three days or "as long as needed."
The surgeon said I will then probably go into rehab as I will need intensive therapy so I can walk again.
I need a laminectomy and decompression of T 10 - T 11. The cord is compressed and that is why I can't walk. He said that I also need a laminectomy and decompression of L 1 - L 2 and possibly L 2 - L 3. He said he would do that later. I told him I want them both done at the same time as I want this done with as it has gone on way too long. He agreed and said it would be around a three hour surgery.
I also have problems in the lower back which is also full or arthritis. He said there is nothing that can be done about that. He said anything that would be done will cause more problems, more pain and wouldn't do any good. He said my back is basically "wore out."
