Random acts of kindness in Toronto

How often do you do something randomly selfless for a stranger? That was the premise behind a recent meeting of kind-minded souls in Toronto, when Brit Matt Feerick decided to organize an event unlike any I've heard of.
As he explains in the video, he was inspired to help others randomly and asked Torontonians to gather on June 16 at Yonge-Dundas Square to help a stranger. It could be complementing someone randomly or offering an umbrella to a rain-soaked pedestrian. It could be buying a couple some ice cream, it could be anything you regard as kind and thoughtful.
Matt says the event was a great success and I'm not too surprised. Canadians are pretty nice people, we sometimes go out of our way to help others, and it's something I've seen on buses and public parks. Toronto gets a bad rap for being cold and selfish but as a lifelong Torontonian I've often seen random acts of kindness..and I've done some myself.
What thoughtful things have you done for people recently?
