Use of Press Releases

Hi everyone, Sorry if this question may sound silly. Was wondering whether the Press Releases that show next to the Assignments have the purpose to be used as sources and ideas for writing articles. I've never done this yet on DJ and I'd like to know what the procedure is. If there's a link on DJ's Help/How To's that you can point me to, which has already a response to my question, that'll be great. Thanks, Anca
