David Sancious is bringing his music to Maine, after wrapping up work on an international tour. As one of the most talented and sought after keyboard players in the music industry, Sancious has played with Seal, Aretha Franklin and Eric Clapton, to name a few. Just off a recent tour with Sting and his ‘Back to Bass’ Tour in Johannesburg and Cape Town South Africa, David is next performing in Winthrop, Maine at the Quaker Friends Meeting House on Friday, April 20th, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Percussionist Joe Bonadio ( Marc Cohn, Chuck Mangione, Sting ) will join him for this performance.
Working with Peter Gabriel, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Beck, Santana, Yousou Ndour, Natlie Merchant, Francis Dunnery, and many others over the years, David is admired and referred to by many as a “Musician’s Musician”. David has used his talents as a pianist, synthesist, guitarist, arranger, and producer on recording sessions and concert tours and is known for playing an eclectic and diverse range of music.
David's first break came when he played and toured with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for three albums, before forming his own group, Tone. David's first record with Tone was "Forest of Feelings" in 1975, followed by “Transformation: The Speed of Love”, “True Stories“, “Just as I Thought“, and “The Bridge”. His most recent recordings include "9 Piano Improvisations", "Cinema" and "Live in The Now”. David is back in his studio completing his ninth album entitled “The Treehouse Sessions”. His music has attracted the attention of artists the world over.
Audiences in Maine will enjoy a wonderful evening of improvisation, favorite songs from previous albums, and a preview of new material from " The Treehouse Sessions". Due to extensive touring, this will be the only east coast performance of the season.
Tickets for the upcoming show are available by calling: 207-557-3955.
