It's been an odd weather month in the Washington DC area. The weather jumps from balmy 60 degrees (Fahrenheit) to below freezing temps with lots of wind.
On Monday we had snow for several hours, didn't amount to much which is not uncommon for this area, but caused a bit of fog in the afternoon.

Two days later it was spring again. I took a look outside and noticed two of my hyacinth began peeking out. They weren't there last week!

And also some other buds began to appear from what I think is ground covering, although I have no idea what these are:

Today its pretty chilly out, and this time last year we were snowed in, the year before was record snowfalls occurring. Yet 2006, it was tshirt weather in December.
