Today, Prestigious 16th December of Bangladesh!

By Shafiqul Islam Jibon Another prestigious December 16th is now on celebration in Bangladesh! People are celebrating this day with fully love and joy. This is the great victory day of our beloved Bangladesh. Bangladesh is going to carnival its forty years of independence on that day of this year. As Bangladeshi national, I am proud of it! I love to say; I am Bangladeshi. I love this beautiful land where I was born and brought up in fresh air and light, where my parents were born, where our people work very hard morning to night. I miss the small river beside of my home that opened up first window of my life. Bangladesh had to fight against brutal Pakistan in 1971 for nine months to save its land and to earn liberation. About 3 million people were sacrificed lives by laying fresh bloods from hearts against Pakistan enemies. After nine months of fight they had to surrender with 90 thousands of army to our heroic people. Under the new flag and the new sun, Bangladesh had crooned up ‘Amar Shonar Bangla Ami Tomay Bhalobashi’ (My golden Bangla, I love you) with passionate salute by billions of people. It was brutal, heartless and inhuman wild attack on Bangladesh by Pakistan! They had jumped on peaceful Bangladesh like a bunch of vampires. World people had observed a terrible genocide in a night. It was coward conspiracy in the dark as they were afraid of our brave people to march forward in day light. In past forty years, Bangladesh just moved forward. On the other hand Pakistan lost all most everything. Pakistan has been treating as symbol of terrorism since decades. Bangladesh got moderate and liberal democratic country values to the world people. Pakistan is losing. Bangladesh is achieving. Pakistan is falling back. Bangladesh knows to move forward. Bangladesh knows to win. Pakistan has become a country of shame. Bangladesh has become a nation of proud. Bangladesh had also laid blood to protect our mother tongue on 21st February in 1952 against Pakistan. Pakistan had wanted us to leave our mother tongue. They had wanted to impose their language Urdu forcefully on Bangladeshi people. They had failed to our fearless students and people that time too. Now we are proud to say that Bengali is now position seventh in top ten most spoken languages in the world. Now Bengali is observing as International Mother Language day since 21st February 2000 by United Nations. Who should be proud? Is it not Bangladesh? Bangladesh’s history is a history of joy and victory. Only the bad politics, corrupted leaders, some evil police officers, non skilled and red taped government bureaucrats, anti-independent malicious groups, now are the most culprits and main obstacles to all developments. The feminization politics of Bangladesh all most captured our land as poisonous snakes. All political parties are all most same. Even some left parties just work to support mainstream politics to gain power and money. The anti- independence evil forces, which are doing politics in the name of religion, are destroying our past achievements. They are creating barricades to our future generation. Some Islamic extremists groups are taking advantage of feeble politics. The people are still in the dark why and how more than 73 army officers were killed together in a mutiny of Bangladesh Rifles Battalion just a year ago. People of Bangladesh cannot forget about terrified bombing in 2005. Around 500 bomb explosions occurred at 300 locations in 63 out of 64 districts of Bangladesh. Top criminals of that blasts game were hanged in a death penalty after verdict. But people are still panic with continues extremism in the country. All government and political parties have been failed to control such evil calamity in the country. After the independence they were silent for first couple of years. Then they came out from the black holes again. Now they are trying to capture our land again. But there is a good sign that people are now realizing about their hidden interest of so called Islamic politics. There for, in last general election no Islamic party won a single seat in the parliament. The present government has set up a tribunal against our war criminal to punish. Some criminal were arrested and the legal procedures was just begun. Though, people are worried about its greater outcome due to domestic and external conspiracy. People are really frustrated and bored with bad politics in Bangladesh. They want peace and prosperity. Bangladesh is such a country, where love and hospitality goes together. They know how to avoid hate. They know how to love. Their moral standard, social and sympathy values could be unique in the earth civilization. They know how to work hard. They know how to respect people. All most half of the nation is living under poverty line, but they do not lose hospitality values. At the same time, I observe some dark sides in new generation. They are growing up in a negative, frustrating and misunderstanding environment now. They do not like to smile to each other. They are losing respect to elder people. Even they like to forget about their parents. They are losing historic values of morality and social responsibilities. All governments like to teach them about political issues rather than basic needs of social life. I don’t know the logic, why Bangladesh government imposed some political debate in national curriculum. Now the children have to learn who is father of the nation or who declared the independence after bloody war against Pakistan. I don’t know, what was the necessity to include this dispute in national educational system, when the issue was made by main political parties. I believe that it is happening for bad politics, which is the only one major problem in Bangladesh now. The evil politics has divided Bangladesh into two main political identities. Even some reputed war heroes are also sold out to various political parties. Some civil society people including Intellectuals, lecturers, journalists, writers, lawyers, judges, doctors are indentified with political back ground. Even, some war heroes, who brought the great impendence for the country, are also divided in political groups. I feel shame, when I see that some warriors are begging from the government charity fund to survive their life. I do not know if they are real heroes and why they expand hand to government corrupted officials and leaders to beg some land or money. I feel embarrass when some heroes of independence join political movements by pushing their disabled body in wheelchair. There for, People of Bangladesh wake up every morning with the news of corruption, black money, killing, smuggling, trafficking of women and child, rape, road accident, land grabbing, killing women by cruel husbands, killing children by hungry father, commit suicide of raped teenage girls, and many more. All of those were happened for weak government and politics that has been occurring since the independence. Bangladesh was never free from enemy. They are moving around everywhere in the country. They still think that Bangladesh is still part of Pakistan. They should plea for pardon right now, before or on the 16th December on Bangladesh victory day. Once Dhaka University professor Dr. Sultana Zaman, wife of late Lt Colonel Kazi Nuruzzman who was sector commander in 1971 for the independence war of Bangladesh, had joint a seminar in Pakistan a few years ago. Then she urged Pakistani authority to beg pardon to Bangladesh. I want to appreciate of Pakistani legend of politics Air Marshal Asgor Khan. Once he correctly pointed out that ‘’Pakistan have no alternative but to beg pardon to Bangladesh. In a protest of Pakistani movement against Bangladesh, he also claimed citizenship to Bangladesh. He had criticized his brutal government about attack on Bangladesh. During the independence war he came to Bangladesh to stand for Bangladeshi people. He has suggested his government, it could be best way to beg pardon to Bangladesh to be guilty free from the historic tragedy in 1971’’. I believe that Pakistan should plea to Bangladeshi people for mercy before or on December 16th of this year. This is a demand of time. Bangladesh needs to clean up of all enemies right now which could be started from this clemency. Bangladesh has to go long way with the sunshine!
