The Way We Were / Are

Admittedly I don’t think very much of people who choose to favor capital gain over all of “We the People.” You know like Eric “Hell No” Cantor, Mitch “Potter$ville” McConnell and the soulless duo Rove and Cheney. However, I have tried to respect Speaker John Boehner as a sincerely tearful potential, if inconsistent, bridge from “Right” to humane, until his most recent nonsensical stand up routine pitching salvation for Corporatism over un/underemployed Americans dangerously close to joining the 1 in 6 now living below the poverty level.
Now I understand a little historical skewing of the facts to canonize Reagan when you have nothing to point to since Lincoln, especially as by any 20th or 21st century political measurements, Old Abe would now be a Democrat. However, I’m not professing that all Progressives (and certainly not the Democratic Party) are angels, but most, unlike The Boehner, are not wolves in sheep’s clothing talking to us as though we’re on the intellectual level of team Bachmann and Palin.
Though I fear only 60% of us in the middle of the extreme 20% Left and Right, are as smart as America needs us to be to survive our current Banksta induced recession, I refuse to believe we’re as dumb as Boehner, Cantor and McConnell’s wealthy conservative bosses think we are.
“Back in the Day, “for better or worse,” is not so long ago anymore, leaving me to believe collectively we still have it in us to reverse this money media manipulated self-destructing Red vs. Blue and rediscover the hero in us, individually.
Remember that moment in “Air Force One” when the pilot flies his jet between President Harrison Ford’s plane and an incoming missile. Every time I see that I think out loud, “that’s who we are,” and we don’t have to go back to “1776” for evidence. Just watch this and take the test: http://blogs.reuters.com/katharine-herrup/2011/09/09/boatlifters-the-unknown-story-of-911/
Now ask yourself: Who are “We the People?”
Are we the “boatlifters” or pre-emptive strike “War of Choice” invaders?
Do we want to be an America that is defined by Congressional Medal of Honor recipients Leroy Petry and Dakota Meyer or those who shouted, “Yeah” during last GOP debate in response to Ron Paul suggestion that the uninsured be allowed to die?

Do we just want to sound bite the Bible and Constitution as manipulative rhetoric or shall we truly practice the “Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself” and “Out of Many, One” as they insist?
Have we allowed Corporate owned media marketing to herd us into mob mentality corrals or are we ready to recapture our exceptional essence and stand united in “Justice for All?”
Are we as gullible as Koch heads think, or are we still the heroes of the sixties, Wisconsin recall voters and practitioners of The Golden Rule?
Do we support neglect of the elderly, the poor and ignoring to death children with cancer or Giving Hope a Helping Hand?
Are we Americans or in “The Right?”
