Back Again

I apologize once again for the inactivity. For the past month and a half, I have been engaged in an event on Helium.com. I couldn't pass up the opportunity. At the same time, I've had to put forth my focus and concentration on the event. The event's over now. I for one am glad that the event is over, I can let out a sigh of relief and accomplishment. ^_^
At the same time, I've been spending the last few weeks brainstorming and trying to rebuild my role-playing board. I don't like the circumstances which caused my last board to die. I've been spending the last few weeks analyzing the problems I had to deal with when my board was still alive.
Anyway, I'm back.

Welcome back. What gaming is your passion?

It's not really a passion per say. A role-playing board is pretty much a combination of a role-playing game in the form of a message board. However, it's not a type of game where there's a big prize at the end.
I would call it a combination of improvisation acting and collaborative story telling. I do find it very interesting. There are a bunch of role-playing forums inspired from movies, video games, TV shows, etc.
Unfortunately, there are at least two-hundred Harry Potter boards.
    They just love Harry Potter...
I have seen plenty based off and inspired from X-Men, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Heroes, Charmed, Firefly, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Resident Evil, Dragon Ball Z, etc.

I played with my share of them. that and those who want to push the boundaries of legal. I was the moderator on a few games and the legal issues can get a bit tricky at times.

It's not just that. I've had to deal with a bunch of people that brought their real life drama onto my board.
While RP is an escape from reality. RP is not an escape from ones real life problems, depression, drama, etc.
My former second in command brought her real life problem on the board. At the same time, she was talking about how she used RP as a means to escape from reality. Plus, she used RP relationships as a means to compensate for RL.

I have known a few. Those are the ones that come at you if you have to break for RL. They forget that living means not RP 24é7. I once got in `trouble` for being in hospital for my heart instead of gaming, LOL

    I will say this...
These knuckleheads are one reason I am pro-gun.
These knuckleheads are one reason I am pro-choice.

    I do find it funny.
There's another one who brought his RL impotence and sexual frustration problems onto the RP. I would laugh... But this person's ex-girlfriend is a friend of mine.
He's a pretty filthy person and so forth. Ever since the break up, he's reduced himself to trying to hook up with 16 year old girls. And the guy is about 21-22 years old.

I hear you on that Nikki. The event on Helium was time consuming. I had to stock up on caffeine... Last few days, I've been going through at least 2-3 cans of soda a day. My brain's been on a massive overdrive as well.

Well, try redbull next time...I hear it gives you WINGS. LOL. :o)
Seriously, sorry you had to endure stress. You ought to watch the Love Guru - it will make you feel better and at least laugh.

Actually I was loading up on the Redbull. A friend of mine griped how those energy drinks cause cancer in the future.
I would say the Reward-a-Thon thing was stressful. However, the rebuilding of my role-playing board is very stressful. In that regard, I have to say this:
XIN does nothing but mainly attract retards that watch too much Dragon Ball Z and Naruto.

    Helium's getting better.
For the Naruto part, nothing wrong with 6 year olds watching Naruto.
But, I'm more concerned about the 17-22 year old Narutards... I had RPed with a person who was a complete Narutard... His character was a ninja. I can understand that.
But, he wore his ninja outfit and mask in the middle of broad daylight in NYC. His view of Nin-Jutsu came from watching too much Naruto.

You did just say offer Love Guru as a stress reliever, did you? That had to be Mike Myer's most horrible mistake. Ugh...you're better off trying to find comedy in a graveyard.
Sorry to be harsh, Nikki, but guess I was seriously disappointed with Love Guru.
On another note, welcome back Can! We missed ya, and it's always good to have another stellar writer return to the team. First day back, already headlining the front page, way to go!
