Well I am about to stir a little controversy here but I must state my viewpoint and clearly.
Just now I discovered I had a -1 sign next to a comment I made in a blog by bobSp. That came as a complete surprise to me because I know I did not click on the vote down button in his post. I have stated previously that I have only voted down only once here on digitaljournal.com and that was in the early stages here. Where that down vote came from and attached to my name as well, I cannot say. I am absolutely categorically truthful when I say I did not click on that button. So I am mystified as to how the down vote happened and how it happened to be attributed to me.
In previous comments in other posts, I have pointed a few things out but graciously. Secondly, some of those things I pointed out merited a down vote under the new guidelines here. But I did not vote those posts down. It is not my style. In fact, in one comment I even stated to the original poster I did not vote them down.
Now I have just seen I received two down votes on a recent post regarding PayPerPost blogging. As this post came after the bobSp's post where somehow a down vote was registered in my name, it does give one pause to wonder if this was some retaliation on the part of some others here.
In some of my other recent posts, I have also received down votes. As with the most recent one, none of these down voters identified themselves by leaving a comment as to the reason they voted me down. Yet if you read the guidelines, I find it hard to understand why the down vote other than the person or persons finding the material irrelevant.
Just my two cents worth and to clear the air as well as putting it down for the record (once again), I did not vote down on bobSP's post.
I make this public apology to bobSp for what happened but not for voting him down because I did not do it. The only possible explanation is it happened inadvertently while I was scrolling with the mouse. If so, it was not intentional, it was not deliberate, it was not because I believed his post merited a down vote under the guidelines.
