The internet giant Google is in talks with Orange about the possibility of a 'Google phone'
Surfing and searching the web from your mobile phone could be about to become much easier. Executives from Orange have met with their counterparts from Google at the 'Googleplex' in Silicon Valley. Under discussion was a proposal that a phone be launched which combines Google's knowledge of the net and software with Orange's experience in the mobile phone market.
The phone, which would most likely carry both companies logo's, would be manufactured by HTC and would look to revolutionise the way the internet is used from mobile phones. Often the experience can be slow and frustrating, with only a limited number of sites avalible.
Amoung the possible benefits would be tailored list's of local cinemas, resturants and other amenities provided by Google. In addition maps and images from Google Earth maybe avalible. This move reflects the continuing trend of various sectors of the electronic media markets to merge and intersect.
