San Antonio - Texas police are currently looking for a man who set fire to a Christmas tree at a Denny's restaurant. Reportedly, the man was an agitated customer who was tired of waiting.
Authorities are seeking to find the man responsible for setting fire to a Christmas tree in a Denny's restaurant. According to a local Fox affiliate in San Antonio, the incident occurred at the Denny's restaurant located at I-35 and Rittiman in San Antonio.
Huffington Post reported the man became angry after he had waited too long on his check.
So what to do? Allegedly, the man decided the solution to his problem was to set fire to a Christmas tree located near the restaurant's register and then flee the scene.
Fortunately, everyone was evacuated safely and no one was hurt. The fire was put out quickly, reported News 4 WOAI.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday. Fox reported Denny's did sustain damage as officials stated the building has "considerable" smoke damage. ABC News reported damages are in the $150,000 range.
Police are still looking for the man who set the fire and are currently examining surveillance footage.
