Middle earth fans: Your favourite characters from J.R.R. Tolkien's novels are returning to the screens. At an in flight screen near you, that is. Director Peter Jackson has teamed up with Air New Zealand to produce a new in flight safety video.
Featuring one Elvish flight attendant, dwarfs, wizards and even an appearance from Jackson himself, the brief taping was inspired by the upcoming release of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", a report from The New Zealand Herald confirmed.
Although safety is discussed throughout, a bit of humour is inserted when Jackson first appears. When the screen switches to him, he pretends to be Gollum like, after finding the "one ring" laying on the ground. Shortly thereafter, he proclaims, "my precious" before wearing the ring and disappearing.
The humorous short-film was produced by the Academy Award Winning , Weta Workshop, who have also worked on The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films.
" The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" premieres in Wellington on Nov. 28.
