Man attacked by bulldog loses a testicle

Toronto - A man is recovering after a dog attack left him with serious injuries to his face, neck and groin. When police arrived, it was confirmed the man lost one of his testicles as a result.

The incident occurred at a home near the Davenport and Avenue Rd. area on Tuesday. It is not clear what caused the attack, but both Toronto Police and Toronto Animal Services were called. Toronto police Det. Murray Barnes said the man was feeding the dog some treats prior to the attack. The pet ,who belonged to the victim's girlfriend, has been placed in quarantine at an animal shelter. A report from the Toronto Sun described how the dog was beaten off with a mop in a desperate attempt to fend off the animal from the struggling man. Animal services are continuing to investigate. No charges have been pressed at this time, according to police.
