Syrian rebels down helicopter in Idlib

Syrian rebels have shot down another Syrian military helicopter in Idlib today during clashes with government forces who are trying to take back control of the town of Maaret al-Numan.

Corroborating reports from Ahram Online and the Telegraph quote the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stating that, "In Maarhtat, on the outskirts of Maaret al-Numan, rebel fighters downed a helicopter being used in the fighting. According to initial reports, the helicopter crashed in nearby Bsida." The Syrian Air Force has been targeting a blockade erected by the rebels on the highway in Idlib which is hindering the Syrian military from sending ground reinforcements to the northern city of Aleppo.
