I've been to several stunning hotels and resorts centres, but the grandeur and artwork of Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville truly dropped my jaw. These photos offer a glimpse into the artistic side of Deerhurst.
Nestled beside Peninsula Lake,
Deerhurst Resort is a year-round retreat found in Ontario's famous "cottage country" known as Muskoka. Boasting 45,000 square feet, it won fame worldwide when it
hosted the G8 Summit in June 2010 but it's been around since 1896. So was I walking over the same steps of Presidents Obama, Putin, etc?
The main lobby area greets you with a warm feel of a fireplace, stone pillars and a cottage-country design ensconced in wood. The area is airy without being overwhelming. When I spoke to staff, they were extremely friendly and helpful.

I had a chance to see some of the incredible artwork lining the Resort's hallways, and some of the pieces felt right at home at this Muskoka hotel. Most of the pieces carried a nature theme, and all were expertly crafted.

Thanks to the
dinner I was invited to on behalf of a literary festival, I tried some of the food offered by the restaurant Eclipse. Let's just say the bacon-wrapped steak was the tastiest meat entree I've enjoyed in a long time.
