While Tiger Woods hasn’t won many golf tournaments in the last few years, he’s still a knockout, or at least that was the case today during a practice round near Chicago.
The former top-seeded golf pro literally
knocked a fan unconscious Thursday with an errant tee-drive from the 18th hole at the Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago.
Tiger was participating in a practice round for the upcoming Ryder Cup when his wild tee shot ricocheted off a spectator, whose knees immediately buckled as he passed out.
However, the mishap became fodder for an adoring crowd when the man told Tiger Woods it “wasn’t his fault.”
Woods sparked laughter in the crowd of onlookers by saying yes it was. Woods apologized several times and eventually signed a glove for the fan.
The man had been taken to first aid and monitored after he was knocked out by Wood’s shot.
The 2012 contest is scheduled for 28, 29, and 30 September at Medinah Country Club, in Medinah, Illinois, a suburb northwest of Chicago.
