Taylor Santos, a schoolgirl from Texas, is nursing a bruised and blistered behind after her male vice principal spanked her.
Santos, a student at Springtown High School, was caught allegedly allowing another student to copy her work.
According to the Daily Mail, as a result of the cheating, Santos received a two-day in-school suspension. She denies knowing that somebody was copying her work.
Santos, a top student, decided to opt for a paddling because she did not want to miss a second day of school. The decision has left her in pain.
According to ABC, Santos requested the paddling when she went to the vice principal's office. Her mother received a phone call and she said that if her daughter was ok with it, then they could go ahead with the paddling. The school policy states that if a parent does not want their kid to be subjected to corporal punishment, then they need to submit a written statement each year.
According to Kmov, the mother said that she believed that school policy was that females swatted females while males swatted males. The mother, Anna Jorgensen, said that this is why she approved of the paddling.
However, she said that she was not happy when she saw the results of the paddling. She said that even though a woman was present during the paddling, the male vice principal should not have been delivering the paddling due to the school's policy.
Jorgensen said that Santos' behind looked as if it had been burned and blistered. Santos said that she still has welts on her, and it has already been a few days since the paddling.
Jorgenson said that she can prove how red her daughter's bottom was because she has photos.
Jorgensen said that she did call the vice principal and he said that it was normal for her daughter's bottom to look that way after getting paddled. He also said he was not aware of the school's policy on females paddling females.
It is said that the superintendent wants to get rid of the paddling policy and allow a male or female to paddle a student of any gender. The superintendent will go before the board on Monday and will ask them to change the policy.
Jorgensen said that she is upset. She intends being at the board meeting too and will be urging them to vote no.
