It is not an experience most ask for but for 20 thrill seekers at Knott's Berry Farm amusement park in California sitting 300 feet in the air for 4 hours was what they got. They were on a ride called 'The Windseeker' when it abruptly stopped.
The Windseeker sends riders up in the air overtop the park in a small gondola, spinning in circles; on Wednesday, however, the fun halted when the security system of the
theme park kicked in.
It stopped The Windseeker in mid-seek and, despite the duration of the stoppage, and the height, the 20 stuck up in the air took it well. They just sat, legs
dangled on the outside, talking and taking in the awesome view. Nobody screamed, nobody panicked...and nobody went anywhere. There are strong, and visible, cables on the ride so there was no danger of gondolas plummeting to the ground; however, some of those in air said it was still a harrowing experience.
The maintenance crew didn't get the riders to the ground until after 7:30 in the evening. Knott's Berry Farm is also the home to one of the world's most famous amusement park rides, Montezooma's Revenge.
