Los Angeles - Police have arrested a man, allegedly carrying a pair of scissors, who had snuck onto the property of the Los Angeles area home of singer Miley Cyrus.
KTLA reports police got a 9-1-1 call about a trespasser around the singer's home in Studio City, early Saturday morning. When they arrived they found a man hiding in some bushes on the property, armed with a pair of scissors. Police say he wouldn't cooperate, repeatedly throwing himself against an outside wall as if he was trying to break into the house, and when police threatened to use a Taser gun on him, he surrendered.
KTLA says the man, identified as Jason Luis Rivera, 40, told police, "I am a friend of Miley Cyrus. I am. She's my wife. Me and Miley have been friends for five years."
The 19-year-old wasn't home at the time but the suspect told employees at the house that he hoped to see her. He refused to leave and allegedly lit some candles in the garden before police arrived.
A man has been arrested and charged with burglary and trespassing, and police say he has a lengthy record in Texas, including a trespassing charge.
