VP Joe Biden has chosen a rather odd campaign partner while traveling around the country stumping for votes with. Sen Al Franken, who was famous for his "rape joke" regarding Lesley Stahl. Nice timing Joe.
VP Joe Biden has quite a penchant for gaffes of greater or lesser tackiness. His infamous gaffe when he told Missouri State Senator Chuck Graham to "stand up, let me see ya", while Graham is confined to a wheelchair was a good example of Biden's ability.
Recently telling Virgina voters "without you we couldn't win North Carolina", plus the "Republicans are going to put y'all back in chains" comment, all of which add up to a gaffe prone dufus, unqualified to lead a parade, to say nothing of having to step in as President if the unthinkable happens.
So how does Joe 'Gaffer" take on the tough job of promoting a President who has no accomplishments to run on, while in Minnesota? Joe of course takes the narrow gate, the one less travelled, he picks Sen. Al Franken to be on stage with him.
Perhaps not a bad choice, except for the very recent furor over the ill conceived and ignorant comments of Senate candidate Todd Akin in Missouri that is.
And just what did the Liberal Minnesota Comedian have to say about rape that should have been an alarm for Joe Biden? Well, while a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live as an actual comedian, instead of a Senator who is still playing his comedy schtick, Franken was quoted in the New Yorker while working on a skit: “And, ‘I give the pills to Lesley Stahl. Then, when Lesley’s passed out, I take her to the closet and rape her.’ Or, ‘That’s why you never see Lesley until February.’ Or, ‘When she passes out, I put her in various positions and take pictures of her.’....Franken: “What about, ‘I drag Mike [Wallace] into my office and rape him. Right here! I guess that makes me bad.’””
And on the front end of this, before the inevitable comments from the Liberal Sympathizers who can't set aside that prejudice, it was quite a while back Franken made such a remark. 1995 to be precise, but then on the other hand, the media seems to have a fondness for digging into all the past gaffes and loaded statements of any Conservative politician. I'll also admit that there is a degree of double-standards which is palpable and blatant in the current election cycle. A set of double-standards the public has become accustomed to, and is hardly noticed for what it is any longer.
The current media bias for Liberal politicians, and promoting their agenda has become so blatant, that many simply accept it as something which has always existed. But it hasn't always been around, and at one time the press was known as the Fourth Branch of Government. Their job used to be to keep the crooked politicians honest enough to do the jobs they were elected to do, or to find out who wasn't being honest enough.
Sadly, that Fourth Branch has withered away and seems nothing more than a secondary branch of the Liberal Establishment politicians. But for now, that's OK, we still have Joe 'The Gaffer' Biden around for comedic relief for a few more months.
