Denmark's Wantr is bringing comparison shopping to the visual pinboard craze. While options like Pinterest, Lover.ly, Wanelo, and Gentlemint offer plenty of pinning opportunities, Wantr is the first to a bring comparison shopping angle to pinned images.
Based out of Copenhagen, the team behind Wantr is hoping to connect its users by creating a shopping community around mutually desired items. While one user might adore a Marc Jacobs leather tote bag from their local retailer, another user might find that same handbag at a different retailer for a substantially reduced price.
By connecting through the Wantr platform, users can find the products they long for at the best prices while creating social shopping networks at the same time. Think of Wantr like Pinterest meets TheFind. Users are able to discover everything from a tree hotel travel experience in Sweden to a scale model electric Traxxas 4WD vehicle, while saving cold hard cash at the same time.

The founding team behind Wantr has plenty of experience to back up their latest venture. CEO and Co-founder Stefan Bech is the co-owner of Copenhagen's Hello Group. CMO Toke Grøfte's background includes stints at both Zupa and Magnetix.
While still in beta mode, Wantr shows definite promise for users from all walks of life. The geek gadget guru in Geneva can connect with the tech-toting tipster in Tulsa, just as easily as the entrepreneur in Uruguay can sync up with the savvy socialite in Seattle. With the common bond of comparison shopping between them, everyone from fashionistas to startup founders can find tempting treasures on Wantr. As more cool and quirky products are being added to Wantr each day, the future definitely looks bright for this hot Danish startup.
