Denver - Brave New Voices held a poetry slam at a theater in downtown Denver. This Syrian girl gives an amazing and heart-wrenching presentation in poetry form.
Brave New Voices is a growing network of over 70 organizations and is committed to building safe spaces that challenge young people to develop and present the power of their voices. It is the voice of the 21st Century.
On their website it states:
"The Brave New Voices National Network consists of organizations, mutually invested in spoken word poetry, as a vehicle to develop the cultural, academic and civic literacies of youth. Partner organizations reflected a diversity of grassroots, small and mid-size organizations. The Brave New Voice Network site allows individuals to view and connect with partner organizations around the world, access updated BNV resources and information, and get important BNV questions answered."
From July 17-21, they held the 15th Annual Brave New Voices festival in the San Francisco Bay Area and Denver, Colorado. It featured young poets from all over the world.
The above extremely moving poetry presentation was given by a Syrian girl. Unfortunately her name is not available, but her words cannot fail to move anyone who is prepared to listen.
