Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z announced that he will serve as executive producer for "NBA2K13." The video game is set to be released October 2, but is currently available for pre-order.
The announcement was made on Jay-Z's official site
Life+Times in a video promo that previews the game, and plays Hov's song "Public Service Announcement" in the background.
NBA All-Stars Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose, and Kevin Durant will be featured on the game's cover,
AllHipHop reports.
The covers will also bear the tagline "executive produced by Jay-Z,"
The Boombox reports. It is unclear at this time whether or not Jay-Z's involvement in the game goes beyond music.
ESPN announced last month that a "Dynasty Edition" of the game will also be released. The special edition will include all the game's regular features, but the All-Star weekend festivities (slam dunk contest, and 3-point shoot out) will be added as well. The "Dynasty Edition" will also come with an "NBA2K13" Spalding basketball, 2K Sports Skullcandy earbuds, and an "NBA2K13" controller skin.
It's been a huge summer for Jigga as he was named
director of Brooklyn's Barclays Arena, the new home of the Brooklyn Nets, earlier this summer. Jay-Z is already co-owner of the team which has been moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn.
