Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders each apologize for hanky-panky

Los Angeles - Whether this should be classified as entertainment news or odd news, or both, is your call but Kirsten Stewart, 22, and Rupert Sanders, 41, admitted that they had an affair by issuing public apologies for it. Each is in a relationship with someone else.

Stewart is with Robert Pattinson, her co-star in 2008's 'Twilight' - they've acted together in 3 additional installments since - and she hopes to stay with him, that after having the affair with Sanders, her director from the movie 'Snow White and the Huntsman.' Normally private, (she hadn't previously, for example, fully acknowledged her relationship with Pattinson), Stewart took the somewhat odd route of issuing a public apology for cheating on Pattinson with Sanders. "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," she wrote in a statement issued through her publicist Wednesday. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry." Married Sanders sorry for fling with Stewart Meanwhile Sanders, married with two children, also issued a statement of contrition that makes it clear he, too has remorse and seeks to stay with his partner, the model Liberty Ross. When People magazine asked him about his affair with Stewart, he responded with a statement. "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," Saunders wrote. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together." There's been no public response from Ross or Pattinson.
