A fan at a baseball game in Toronto this past weekend caught a foul ball between his legs while heading to his seat with his hands full from concession purchases.
The unusual catch happened during Friday night's Toronto Blue Jays/Cleveland Indians game at
Rogers Center.
Cleveland's second baseman Jason Kipnis hit a foul ball off the left field line during the seventh inning. As the ball soared into the stands, it hit the ground and bounced up. A fan, with his hands full carrying food and drink, did some
quick thinking and managed to snag the ball between his legs.
Amazingly, the fan never dropped any of his refreshments.
Another fan who had also been chasing down the ball helped him retrieve it; the video clip shows an awkward moment as one fan tries to hand it to the other with his hands full, however the foul ball catcher manages to hold onto the ball.
NBC Sports said, "Baseball fans can get a little creative when trying to catch a foul ball but I’ve never [seen] anyone stop a foul ball with their legs before until now."
There's a good chance this may be a first.
Cleveland won Friday night's game, 1-0, but
Toronto won Saturday's game 11-9. With Toronto's win on Sunday, the Blue Jays took the 3-game series win.
