An Australian demonstrates how to catch a kangaroo with a shopping bag. The bearded man, it appears, simply walks up to a kangaroo in the bush, opens his bag in front of the kangaroo, and it jumps into it.
The video shows the man placing the bag over the Kangaroo's head. The animal jumps into the bag without hesitation. The man declares, "And there you have a kangaroo." Then he strolls off with the Kangaroo like a shopper carrying grocery home from the supermarket.
O.Canada.com summarizes the steps for catching a kangaroo as demonstrated in the video:
Find a kangaroo
Get a shopping bag
Put the bag over the kangaroo
The kangaroo will fall in
Then you have a kangaroo!
The Daily Mail reports a YouTube viewer's explanation of the bizarre scene: "It's a joey, that's why it still falls into the bag, because of its similarity to getting in a pouch."
Kangaroo mothers nurse their offspring in an abdominal pouch. The comment suggests that the Kangaroo instinctively falls in the bag because it is similar to a female kangaroo's pouch.
Another YouTube viewer marvels: "He makes it look so easy. It's like he's just selecting food from the supermarket."
