London - Sergei Zolotovsky has attempted suicide twice since the murders in 2010. As a consequence of the attempted suicide, he is paralysed from the waist down.
Zolotovsky does not deserve any remorse or compassion. Zolotovsky is a murderer of the worst kind.
At least, bed bound Zolotovsky cannot commit murder from his bed. It was from his bed that he faced court. BBC News reports that, Zolotovsky did not just murder once, but twice. He's a double murderer and has received a 30 year prison sentence for the murders of his ex-wife and mother-in-law.
Sergei Zolotovsky, 44, stabbed Svetlana Zolotovska, 40 on her way to work in Beckton Park, East London, in 2010. Later, he went on to kill Antonina Belska, 70, at his marital home in Newham.
Zolotovsky was married for 20 years and killed the women, two days after the financial settlement for his divorce arrived.
He tried to set fire to his house before cutting both of his wrists and throat.
Judge Stephen Kramer QC, at the Old Bailey said, "In your view your ex-wife was a sinner, indeed you wrote a note calling her a sinner. In your opinion she had taken everything and left you with nothing."
The attack on his ex-wife was pitiless. Zolotovsky was fully prepared to use extreme aggression and violence. Zolotovsky seriously wounded his ex-wife with a knife, stabbing and slashing her to bits. After he had killed his wife he went on to kill his mother-in-law, Antonina Belska.
After twelve days of the murders, Zolotovsky of Stratford, East London, threw himself from a prison landing, in an attempted suicide. He was left paralysed from the waist down.
Due to Zolotovsky being paralysed, he appeared at the Old Bailey in a hospital bed. The jury took no pity on him and convicted him in just half an hour.
