This is a guy who it seems can do no wrong. A guy who could go way out of his field, which is pop music, try a totally different venture and still come up smelling like a rose. And that is exactly what Justin Bieber has done.
It was announced Tuesday that Bieber is going to given the 'Elizabeth Taylor Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award.' It is given each year to the celebrity who is judged to have done the most for the world of fragrance (Halle Berry won last year). Back in the day for some of us guys it's not an award we would have cared to be considered for but, well, times have certainly changed.
Justin Bieber: Award for 'Someday'
Bieber's latest award is part of the 40th Annual FiFi Awards, known as the Oscars of the perfume world. The actual evening where Bieber will be presented with his FIFi goes on May 21 in New York with Jane Lynch of 'Glee' hosting. And why Bieber? Because he put out his own fragrance in 2011, called 'Someday,' and it sold out across the U.S. and Canada, making $3 million in its first 3 weeks just at Macy's in New York.
No word on whether Bieber will turn up to the ceremonies but safe to say that if it doesn't pick up his perfume award it might raise a bit of a stink. Of course back in the day us fellows would have made certain to be nowhere near the place.
It seems likely he would have preferred to have won a Grammy, no?
