A DJ from a Baltimore radio station says that he has heard Justin Bieber's new single, 'Boyfriend' and that it is "so much different than his previous music." Mick Lee did not say how he came to hear the song, which is due to be released on March 26.
It is intended to be Bieber's first release from his new upcoming album 'Believe' and Lee, a DJ at Z104.3 in Baltimore, Maryland - who met Bieber in 2009 when the pop star was just 15 - talked about his impressions of the single on the station's website.
"I just got a chance to hear the new Justin Bieber song 'Boyfriend'", DJ Lee wrote. "All I'm saying..is wow....so much different than his previous music. Produced by Mike Posner....the best way to describe it is a mix of Justin Timberlake "Sexy Back"...N Sync "Girlfriend" --- AND get this... he raps...best comparison is it sounds like "Wait" by the Ying Yang Twins."
Justin Bieber: 'Believe' "really, really different"
Lee's assessment of the single jives with what Bieber has said about the entire album. "You can't really expect anything from my album. It's really, really different," he told MTV recently. "And it's new; it's not the same thing everyone's used to hearing right now on the radio. It's really exciting for me, 'cause I'm able to break out of my shell and show my fans what I'm all about."
There's no date on the release of the album but it is expected in the spring.
