Mossad behind assassination of Tehran's nuclear experts and scientists last week, says the Time magazine quoting "Western intelligence sources".
Time
believes that the assassinations of top Iranian scientists have been planned by Israel's spy agency Mossad and carried out over the past two years by Iranian nationals trained and paid by Israel.
Commenting the news of the
death of Mr Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, a university lecturer and expert on a phase of uranium enrichment, perished on a Tehran street on Wednesday after an assassin in a passing motorcycle attached a magnetized explosive to the side of his car, a senior Israeli official said Time with a smile: "Yeah, one more... I don't feel sad for him."
Time accuses Tel-Aviv also of an attack that has recently caused a big explosion near a missile base not far from Iranian capital Tehran.
Time's revelations come after an
article by Mark Perry on Foreign Policy on January 13 revealed that Israel has recruited and funded members of Baluchistan-based terrorist organization Jundallah (Arabic for "Soldiers of God") to fight a covert war against Iran with a number of attacks, including abductions, bombings and blasts which killed hundreds of persons. Many believe Jundallah is
linked to al-Qaeda.
The U.S. and Israel have not ruled out military action against Iran if diplomacy fails to resolve the diplomatic dispute over the Persian nuclear programme, which Tehran insists is of civilian nature.
Anyway, according to a
report, U.S. defense officials are seriously concerned that Israel is preparing to carry out a military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, which may have perilous consequences.
Washington has stepped up contingency planning in case Israel launches such a strike.
