A man in Pennsylvania has been sent to jail for allegedly attempting to kill his wife whom he said spends too much time on Facebook.
Harry Hibbs Jr., 51, tried to shoot his wife Anna Hibbs at their home in North Strabane on Christmas Eve but the gun malfunctioned, reports New York Post, citing police reports.
The man was said to have earlier hit her in the head with a gun after she was pushed to the ground. Two children, one of them a two-year-old, were around during the time of the incident.
'He threatened to take my life,’ the Daily Mail quotes Mrs. Hibbs as telling Canon-McMillan.patch.com. 'He said, "The only way you’re leaving here is in a body bag".'
Harry Hibbs told police he was "tired of his wife being on Facebook," according to the police report cited by the New York Post.
The Daily Mail reports Hibbs was arrested on Christmas Eve and charged with attempted homicide, assault and reckless endangerment.
He is held on $500,000 bail at Washington County Correctional Facility, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 4.
