A stuntman on the set of the film The Expendables 2 died yesterday while filming a scene involving an exploding rubber boat.
On the set in Sofia, Bulgaria, a stuntman was
killed in an accident that also sent another stuntman to hospital in critical condition, TMZ reports.
The accident occurred Thursday night local time while the
movie’s second Unit Stunt Team was filming a scene on reservoir Ognyanovo 15 miles outside the capital Sofia, Deadline
writes.
Local police have launched an investigation. No names of the deceased or injured have been released.

The Expendables 2, said in a
statement: “Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy. The filmmakers are working closely with the authorities in responding to and investigating this accident.”
Media reports
note "the film’s main unit, led by director Simon West and star/producer Sylvester Stallone was filming in the picturesque mountain resort village of Bansko 2.5 hours away." It is unclear if any of the film leads witnessed the explosion.
The Expendables 2 is a follow-up to Expendables, and the sequel stars Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
