Melbourne - Tennis star Andy Murray has battled through to his second successive Australian Open final after a hard-fought display against Spain's David Ferrer in Melbourne.
Murray will now face Novak Djokovic after the Scot battled to a 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-1 7-6 (7-2) victory. It was not however a straightforward victory for Murray, his game was littered with errors and having lost the first set 4-6, Murray battled through to take the second set that went all the way to the wire, winning on a tie-break that the Scot dominated 7-2, as Sporting Life reports
Few could have hoped for better fortune for Murray when Nadal and world number one Roger Federer were both defeated before reaching the grand slam final. In fairness to Nadal his defeat followed an injury that left him philosophical in a humble interview with the media after.
The Australian Open final - Andy Murray v Novak Djokovic will take place at Melbourne Park Date this Sunday 30 January from 0815 GMT (0315EST). Live coverage on the BBC1 for UK viewers.
