A barbecue fork used for skewering and serving meat was the young boy's weapon of choice as he savagely beat Cuddles, a small dog.
The dog was reportedly chained up and could do nothing to escape. As
CBC News reports, the boy is a Stoneville resident, and the victim, Cuddles, belonged to his neighbor, Norman Hodder.
Hodder is distraught and has spoken to the boy's father, also noting that the child has caused other neighborhood disturbances, saying:
If he's capable of doing that to a dog, I don't know, he could do it to a child...
Though Hodder has had words with the apparently incorrigible boy's parents, he says he wishes he could do more.
Perhaps the loudest voice responding against this horrific incident has been that of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The SPCA's spokesperson has been vocal in expressing shock and unease over the incident. However criminal charges have not and can not be made against a boy of that age.
Nonetheless the RCMP have been notified and are seeking non-arrest options for dealing with the violent incident.
