RNC fire staffers over Bondage Club Bar Tab

West Hollywood - RNC Chairman Michael Steele fired RNC finance director Rob Bickhart and deputy finance director Debbie LeHardy, both of whom were tied to embarrassing payments made by the party committee including one FUNraiser at a bondage-themed bar in West Hollywood.

The Republican National Committee finance chief, the man in charge of the guarding the cash given by Republican donors, when staffers charged nearly $2,000 for "meals" at a Los Angeles bondage-themed club, has been fired.

Rob Bickhart will be replaced by Mary Heitman, former finance director for the Republican Governors Association, Politico reported Friday.

The dust-up at the RNC Headquarter began the end of March when an FEC expense report detailing the lavish spending habits of the Republican National Committee was released. It turned into a dust storm when it showed money donated to the RNC had been used for private jets, first class hotels, clothing and other personal expenses staff hid under expenses for meals.

That dust storm turned into a full blown F5 Tornado after it was discovered that $2000 was spent at a bizarre fetish bar in Los Angeles and had been reimbursed to a low end contributor who had arranged the funraiser at the bondage-themed nightclub, Voyeur. The public outcry was fueled even further when journalists called it a "lesbian themed" club enraging every homophobe in the country.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse it did and the real story emerged about Voyeur and the owners who based the idea for the club on the movie "Eyes Wide Shut". A few news agency did get the story right and you can read about that at "Those aren't Lesbians, They're Thespians," to see what really goes on at Voyeur a popular hot spot for some of Hollywood's elite.

In the interim, with a mess on his hands and tornado still spinning around his head Michael Steele's final decision on how to deal with the fall-out came Friday with the firing of RNC staffers Bickart and LeHardy.

Where will this end Republican's want to know, and many of them are donating their monies elsewhere unhappy with the moves that Steele has made since taking over the helm at the Republican National Committee.

If the RNC named Tornado's like Hurricanes are named this one would have been called Leather and Steele and a sampling on the Internet using those words showed the displeasure and sense of humor of those who are unhappy with the dust-up turned dust storm turned Tornado at the RNC Headquarters.
