Archie comics welcomes new gay character Kevin Keller on Sept 1

New York - Archie's gang at Riverdale High have entered the 21st century and are ready to welcome Kevin Keller, a new classmate who is openly gay.

VERONICA #202 will feature a complete issue devoted to introducing the young gay teen to Archie,Veronica,Reggie, Betty, Jughead and others in the Riverdale universe . The story called "Isn't it Romantic", has young hunk Keller as the new kid in town who Veronica quickly develops a full on crush upon. She is remarkably attracted to Kevin after he defeats Jughead in a hamburger eating contest at Pop's Choklit Shoppe. As Veronica's affections for Kevin become more desperate, he tries his best to "let her down easy.", and you can bet that somewhere down the line Archie's unrequited love for Veronica will also be adversely affected as usual. "The introduction of Kevin is just about keeping the world of Archie Comics current and inclusive. Archie's hometown of Riverdale has always been a safe world for everyone.
