Nov. 5 was very entertaining and enjoyable night all across the UK. Welcome to the fireworks display in Dundee, Scotland.
Every year on Nov. 5 Britons celebrate "Bonfire Night" (or Guy Fawkes Night), enjoying live music, bonfire and fireworks displays. This night is a commemoration of the Gunpowder Plot of Nov. 5, 1605, when Catholic conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament with King James I inside.
Annual celebration in Dundee is organized by Dundee City Council and includes two Musical Fireworks Extravaganzas placed at two public parks.
Last night the events started at 5:30 p.m. with live entertainment and music in both places: Baxter Park and Lochee Park.
Then, the bonfire was lit and at 7:00 p.m. fireworks began. It was accompanied by the musical themes from James Bond movies.
Despite cold weather, everyone participating in yesterday's bonfire night looked really happy, especially children.
I hope that photographs, all taken by myself last night and last year's Bonfire Night, at Lochee Park in Dundee, will give you the feeling of this colourful, beautiful night.
