A 23-year old woman from Minneapolis is planning to broadcast the birth of her first child, live on the Internet in November.
Whether you write it off as another quest for fame or just TMI, Lynsee, a soon-to-be mother will be inviting readers of her blog to watch the birth of her first child from Twin Cities’ Moms Like Me website. Lynsee, who has been writing a personal blog about her pregnancy, sees the live birth as an opportunity to teach people about pregnancy and the delivery experience.
The live birth will be recorded by professionals, so the most gory of details will not be shown, but community members can log on for an eyeful and participate in an online chat.
Earlier last month, MomsLikeMe.com asked their members their thoughts about watching a live birth. Around 60 percent said they would be interested in watching, and curiously, the same percentage also said they wouldn't want any extraneous people in their delivery room.
Lynsee says she's excited about the opportunity because it will be a unique momento for her baby and that she is looking forward to the encouragement and good wishes from the community members. Her delivery date is November 19.
